The new thinking bride

When I saw this picture that a dear friend Oliver Howell took at a wedding he was at last summer I just love it! Fun, trendy, cute out of the box..

Then I really took a look at it. Tho I think it's a great picture(he is amazing) I thought to myself where are flowers? are brides really thinking this way? out of the box? Kinda scary for me. What if the brides stopped ordering wedding flowers. Today men lapel flowers, tomorrow maids bouquets and so on. looking for that alternative. This is one HUGE reason myself and other designers need to be on top of their GAME. Always having new ideas for the client.
What do you see when you look at this photo? do you see the lost art of design gone? new trendy looks for the bride? I would love to hear what you think. Leave me a comment....

Fun Class

I took a great class today, I love seeing new trends in wedding work..I can never get enough of it.. Check out theses cool designs

inspiration comes to many people in many different ways. For me I love to have it hands on, to touch and actually to involved in something is of GREAT inspiration. Today I attended another great bouquet class In Grand rapids at my wholesalers they tend to have nice little shows, and their displays are amazing. If I just learn one thing and take it with me and Incorporated in my wedding designs I feel it was well worth the time and money. My investment in myself my education is priceless.. Here are a few of those inspirations I found today

Shout out to my flower friend

These are huge! I just am in love with it..

The best thing about attending the Michigan Floral Convention is meeting new friends. Janet from Floral Verde in Flint is one of the friends I got to meet last year. Her and I met via the internet(it's a great tool). She entered the contest that MFA put on every year. Here is her beautiful succulent wedding bouquet, and her awesome center piece too. I forgot to snap a photos of her very cool wreath (sorry Janet). But just take a look at these amazing succulents. By the way I am totally in love with them. I plan on using many this summer.. Great job Janet glad we could catch up Saturday. I am also sorry about Sunday, hope you had fun....

The Cascade is BACK

This past weekend I attend the Michigan Floral Convention in Grand Rapids Mi. It's a time were us designers get to come talk, share, and just hangout. This weekend was no exception to the great time had by all. So many great new designs and flowers on display. The big come back is the cascade bridal bouquet. It's not your mothers 80's style its new it's updated and it's FUN.. Take a look at these great desings. YUMMY colors Yummy flowers....

More cascades

Take a look at all of theses bouquets just waiting to get out on the stage and be seen. Bright vibrant colors are all the rage, I just love it. Wire to is all the rage hanging from everything. So modern for the bride with GREAT taste.

Society Of American Florist

I am honored to be in this month issue of SAF. This is a great resource for florist all over the country. I was contacted by Kate Penn about a few of my bouquets she saw on my website. She wanted to know how I constructed them and how I sell them to brides. Here is that write up. A special shout to all the great photographers that capture my art.. Oliver Howell, Angie Jones, and Stephannie Karen.. Thank you with out you my bouquets would never be preserved!
